Am I the only one who thinks that it's our rights to ask for our money back from those who borrowed from us?
The problem people have with asking for their money back is that they are afraid of straining their relation with the other party. I've heard friends explaining that it's simply not right to chase people for money just because it would make you appear money-faced.
So does that mean it's actually right for people to borrow money and not return it?
Perhaps it's just me. But you, the lender, have just as much responsibility as the borrower to get back the money. Don't forget that it's YOUR money. If you don't give a shit about getting it back, why should anyone else care about returning you? I'm sure no one minds having the extra cash with them.
I'm not trying to say that the lender is wrong to loan out money. All I'm trying to put across here is this:
Both parties have to make an effort.
If you lend out money, make sure you get it back.
If you borrow money, PLEASE, make it your responsibility to return it. If people are kind enough to lend money to you, I don't see why it's so hard to return their kindness.
Don't dwell too much on the repercussions of asking back YOUR money. The money is yours. You have the rights to ask it back. Seriously, if a relation can be strained that easily, it's simply not worth the while for you to cherish it.
Be nice, not stupid.

How many of you attached guys out there emptied your wallets out again this year for this supposedly romantic day of the year?
I was minding my own business,
wasting my life away mapling as usual when my mum came in and started talking about how dumb guys can be, spending SGD80 bucks on a bouquet of flowers. 80 fricking dollars just for a bouquet of flowers that would probably be thrown away within 24hours.
Mum suggested that if I ever get a girlfriend, I should just take her out for dinner on Valentine's Day and skip the flower giving ceremony because it's much more cost saving, not to mention that those flowers ain't gonna fill anyone's stomach. I agree with her, but then again, that is me, 2006, without a girlfriend.
Can I say the same thing years from now, when I'm attached?
The problem with this whole Love affair is that it seems to make a person stupid. If you love the guy/girl more than he/she loves you, you will get dumber. And trust me, the other party would get smarter. Much much smarter.
I don't mind spending money on the girl I like/love but the problem with this whole deal is that it can get pretty frustrating when you don't even get appreciated for your efforts. Could it get any worse? You betcha.
Just when you thought you've given everything you could to please the other party, he/she scoots, turns his/her back on you and waves a goodbye.
Fun times.
Which comes to the point that 2 smart people can't make up a good equation for love. It just can't work out. Unless you're prepared to be stupid-ified. Given the facts that are presented to us again and again, love makes a person stupid enough to do all the stuff they do. Who in the right mind would spend 80 fricking bucks on a soon-to-be member of the trash can?
Love. You either reign the game or resign to your fate as the jester. In the end, it's all a matter of who is able to play the game better.

14th February... Valentine's Day.
The only thing I could look forward to for the day of romance was seeing Fiona Xie at the train station again.
But when I arrived at the station today, horror struck me. They had removed my valentine's date and replaced her with this! (below)
I should have known having Fiona for my valentine's date was too good to be true. Now where am I supposed to find a replacement poster for my date?

The Chingay Parade came right down to Hougang this evening. Me, being the lazy ass that I am, didn't bother taking any photos til the very last minute when the parade started to drive away. But my mum however, took quite a handful of photos.
I hereby present to you... Chingay @ Hougang.
And the following two photos are the ones that I took as the parade started to move away.
The photos I took sucked. As usual. I hate to admit it, but my mum takes better photographs than me. I'll get better. Really.

Yes siree! I just received my spanking new identification card from the ICA building at Lavender. Got there at about 11am feeling really sleepy. You may now all bow down to me and call me Darrell, for real this time.
One interesting sidenote:
My Mum nearly got into a fight with one guy because of the queue. We were actually told to jump the queue by the ICA official but this guy wasn't too happy about it, even though my Mum had explained to him that we were not jumping the queue (I have to admit she wasn't totally clear with her explanation though).
People seriously need to get the stick out their asses and stop being so uptight.

My worst fears have come true. People do need to train to pass NAPFA! EGADS!
Anyways, here's my NAPFA results. Yes, I know, it sucks. But hey, I'm delusional.
Shuttle Run: 11.23 secs
Chin Up: 0 (as usual)
Sit Up: 40
Sit & Reach: 37
Standing Board Jump: 201
2.4km: 14mins plus
Go ahead and mock my results. I'll be in my little delusion corner if you need me.
