Cleared! AT LEAST! Woohoo!

I can't believe I was the first to step out of the room! Thank goodness.

This goes to show that finishing your paper fast doesn't signify carelessness!

There's a girl that I like. Really really like... can't get her off my mind. She makes me smile just by smiling. My day gets better just by chatting with her.

Ahhh... this addiction is strong.

Perhaps I have not shown enough sincerity? I don't know. I just wish... I could be with you. 请给我一个机会来唱首属于我们的情歌。一首诗情桦意的恋曲。

Been waiting for this film since last year! Wow. I'm glad to say it was worth it!

Steve Carell has done it again. You just can't stop laughing when you see his serious expression. He really has the right package for a comedian. Couldn't stop laughing throughout the movie. If you haven't watched it, please do so!

Had dinner at Marina Square's food court. Perfect timing too! Got to see the fireworks for the NDP rehearsal. Wow. It was fantastic. I didn't know that they looked so nice. Perhaps it was partly because of the company I was with. It was really nice though. Too bad I was too busy appreciating the fireworks that I failed to take a photo of it! Dang!

Oh yeah, went to the first ever Singapore Toy and Comic Convention today. It wasn't what I expected... had imagined it to be an anime affair, totally ignoring the title of the event. But I still managed to go home with a free comic issue. Not a bad deal at all!

All in all, busy day, happy day!

Bliss. Having that little taste of the thing you are addicted to can really revive you.

Just a little taste of it. Even if it's that teeny weeny bit.

Right now, it tastes like sugar. It feels you with energy.

This is the only addiction that I don't mind not getting cured from. =]

Addiction... is not necessarily a bad thing. It's just something that you are so used to that without the presence of it, you feel out of place, out of sorts... and not yourself.

You start feeling listless and become quieter than usual. There's just something inside that feels out of place and it's unsettling. You try every possible way to distract yourself, and if you are lucky enough to have friends around, you might succeed.

Or you might just end up staring at what used to be a busy phone, for example.

Cold turkey sucks when it is not for eating.

Look at the mirror and ask yourself this: Who am I?

Are we who we really think we are? If we act a certain way long enough, will we become who we act like? Are we a victim of circumstance? Do we control the environment or does the environment control us?

Questions questions questions, and no answers.

Are you someone who conforms the the rules of society? A person who obeys the higher authority? Me? I've been taught to obey rules my whole life, and I admit that I am a person who obeys the rules given to me. But given the circumstance of life and death, whereby obedience might lead to the death of another, would you think of rebelling against a command?

The Stanford Prison Experiment unveils some of the answers to the questions that I posed above. It is a very interesting psychology study. It shows the weakness of human nature and how vulnerable we are to the pressure around us.

You can read up on the study at http://www.prisonexp.org/. For your convenience, I have also posted the videos of the experiment on the blog. Enjoy.

Does this joker look like he visits the gym?

Hello. My name is Darrell and I'm that joker in the photo. If you answered 'yes' to the above question, you're not the first and probably won't be the last.

It's quite amusing when you get people coming up to you with the assumption that you gym when you hate that place. The aircon's great for chilling out, but I don't like the idea of sweating in an air conditioned room. And the machines and I just don't see eye to eye.

This post isn't about me. Not totally anyways. It's about how people view the world. How you view the world. We are creatures who judge based on the first impression given to us. If you see a man with messy hair in tattered clothings, you would probably assume that he's dirt poor, even if he's a rich billionaire. Impression.

Now, wouldn't that make us stereotypes?

We can't totally blame ourselves for this major flaw. In this fast-paced society, we simply don't have enough time to give a second glance and thus have to make a quick judgement based on the impression that was given to us.

Question now is, how do we strike the best impression in others and at the same time prevent ourselves from making quick stereotypical judgements on others?

Now, that my friend, is the question.

My answer? Respect yourself. Respect yourself by being presentable. I seriously have no idea how to prevent ourselves from making quick judgements on others. I'm guilty of that from time to time, even in online games. But I try not to. It's a matter of control.

How are you viewing the world today? And what kind of impression have you left on the people you talked to today?

That, is the question.

What have you been doing for the most part of today?

I'd say that today is one of my most productive days ever. I've never felt so alive in my life, trying to be as productive as possible instead of wasting my time surfing random stuff and feeling emo because I know I have wasted yet another day.

Time is of the essence. And it's tricky. Because everyone of us has 24 hours. No more, no less.

Let me give you a short run down of my activities today.

-Woke up at around 9am to get ready for my SIM timetable slot selection
-Replied an email
-Selected my slots for the school year
-Chilled for a bit and watched my favorite anime
-Ate lunch
-Got out of house and headed for RELC
-Finished my RELC administrative matters and headed for SIM
-Finished my SIM administrative matters and headed for Beach Road
-Had to wait 2 hours for my uniform to be sewn, during which I walked to Bugis hoping to catch a movie, but didn't
-Walked back to Beach Road to collect my uniform
-Walked all the way to Little India because I know people would hate me if I had to squeeze in the green and red MRT line with my huge bag

I'm currently contemplating if I should do my ePrep at the NS Portal. The one where I get to study a free short course online.

So there you have it. Today is a good day indeed. I wish I could live a productive life everyday. It makes me feel... useful.

How was your day?

*Note: Not the kind you would eat, or even think of eating. Seriously*

When people said that chocolates are sinful delights, they don't really mean it literally.

Well, you get your just desserts in this Thai power packed action show. Hearing the word CHOCOLATE would never be the same again when you watch this girl kick ass, kick groins and whatever there is available on the set for her to kick. This is definitely not your usual sweet chocolate treat.

Be prepared to be stunned, shocked, amazed and repeat the three emotions over and over again as you watch her fight baddies and send them fleeing for their dear lives. I'd suggest that you hold on to your chin as your jaws would be inclined to drop to the ground over and over again watching this girl do her thing.

I'm not sure about you, but from now on I'd think twice before I touch the Rocher on the table. That might just be the last chocolate that you mess with.

For those of us who have nothing but complaints in life, for those of us who spent most of our time being an emotional wreck, for those of us who have fallen and have not gotten up since, this is the video to watch.

If you're rushing for time, here's the shortened Ophrah version.

Embrace your dreams.

I can't believe this. Much has changed around me without me even realising it!

I tried to go to the library at Orchard today with Softie, but it turns out that the place no longer exists! *gasps* How could a library close down? This is totally unheard of!

And then there's that bridge that I always take to cross over to Suntec. Gone! Gone I tell you! One freakin' bridge GONE!!

How much changes can you handle before you snap? Everything changes. The library. The bridge. Even your mom. Let's just face it.

And as Master Wugui from the animation production Kungfu Panda would say...

"There is no accident."

That's right my friends. Changes don't happen accidentally. It occurs not overnight but over a certain period of time, shaped by a certain factor.

And change is something that all of us has to handle. Adapt to the change...

Or forfeit your game.

Ahoy me hearteys! Me an' me mateys had a grill at the Carribeans yesterday for our platoon cohesion.

That place is huge! I never knew that condos had their own 7 Eleven. I didn't explore the place, but I bet they have other hidden goodies in there! It's like a pirates' cove! You can practically camp there without having to step out of its vicinity. How cool is that?

Oh, and the slide at the pool is truly awesome great fun. We tried out the Superman, the Cannonball and the Backwards. It really hurts to slide down at great velocity when the water level is lower than your knees! Ouch. Lesson learnt!

Ever tried singing KTV overnight? That's the point where 卡啦OK! becomes somewhat not OK. Especially so when you try to sing Shin's rock songs.

We learn something new everyday... which we try not to forget.

Here I am. At home.

Ya, not in camp. At home.

So are my peers in arms.

It's kinda depressing when you have to work on something while the rest are either: sleeping, slacking, playing, digging their nose or doing all of the above.

What am I working on?

I call it the Book of Doom. My Doom.

Dang.

Good thing I have a miracle cure for combating this impending feel of doom. My addiction which actually turned out to be a cure!

Better than vitamin C!

But none of you can have it. Sorry. Not telling you my miracle cure.

Don't be too sad.

Did anyone know that Pikachu is actually a mouse? Who'd have known that a mouse would be residing in the hall of huggable fame alongside Hello Kitty?

Introducing... Pikachu!!

The loveable mascot of Pokemon fever. This little mouse is a walking powerhouse with an electrifying personality (literally).

Awww... don't you just wanna hug the cute widdle (ok, maybe not so little) yellow rodent?

Unless you are planning to hug Pika Pikachu, please keep your hands to yourself at all times.

That is a negative demonstration. 请勿学习。叔叔是有练过的哦!!

I got the chance to go out with her again. =] Good day. Second time for this month! Wow. Umm... as usual, it was an enjoyable time. Actually, it was more enjoyable than usual cause it felt like the paparazzi was after us. Wahahahaha! So exciting! More interesting than reading spiderman comics!

Oh, and to Ms Softie, thanks again for accompanying me. =] We should really make this into a routine. I really like... it.

Over and out.

Muahahahaha!

Went for the fingergun fight event thingy at Boat Quay on Saturday.

It was wack.

The instruction was to actually find the person holding onto a green plushie which turned out to be a green soft toy snake. I was really tempted to go up to the guy and ask him if I could pose with the snake for a photo. For the kick of it.

Didn't had enough adrenalin in my head to do that though.

According to plan, they were supposed to brief the participants at some secret hideout at around 3.45pm. I went with this silly girl (ahahahah!) and reached about... 3.20pm (um... not sure about the time. I just copied this data off someone)?

We ended up loitering around as unsuspicously as possible til around 3.30pm before heading back to the snake guy to check out the progress of the event. It appears that they already had their participants go undercover since there wasn't any crowd around the snake guy AT ALL.

Unfortunately, when it was about to reach the designated time, it started to rain.

Remember my previous post about it not raining?

Ya, it had to rain that day.

I mean, seriously, I'm not complaining about the rain, but...

Anyways, the rain forced everyone to run helter skelter to find a shelter. I wasn't too concerned about the rain, but hey, I gotta take care of my friend right? (ok, I lied. I don't want to get wet either.)

We ended up at the stairs of some bank and stoned around. One of the participants even came up to me to ask about the event. What was that about acting as inconspicuous as possible? Totally not working.

Anyways, we ended up not being able to catch the whole action due to the wet weather. Seems that they moved indoors to carry out their master plan. Sucks be to us.

So the 2 bored people headed off to Orchard Road. Great Singapore Sales has apparently invaded the streets. We went to a number of places, namely Cineleisure, The Heerens, Takashimaya, Lido and Far East Square. An empty wallet didn't provide much assistance to me, so I had to go home empty handed. It's not that I don't wish to contribute to the economy! The army just doesn't pay me enough!

Have you ever tried getting lost in Takashimaya? That would have been quite amusing. Good thing I have good eyes. All that rain really made me hungry and we were actually intending to eat at Taka's MacDonalds... but it was just way too crowded. Total nuh-uh. Fortunately for us, I know of a better place to enjoy a happy meal. Lido MacDonalds!

There was actually a cheerleading competition right outside Takashimaya. It was so cool watching them throw each other around into the air. I wonder how much pain it would inflict onto the person who lands off cue. Ouch. But still, it was awesome watching all those people dance in sync. All that energy. Wow!

The day kinda ended with her accompanying me to Ang Moh Kio so that she could wait for her transport there. (It's complicated. Don't ask.) Cause I'm nice. And... she's silly. So I just can't resist her company.

Ok, that's all. You've read enough. Go get on with your real life. Shoo.
