What would be a better way to celebrate your love then to watch a movie on Valentine's Day as a treat for... Valentine's Day?
Valentine's Day is a story about the lives of several people who, somehow, magically, crosses paths with each other one way or the other on the big V Day. Each character has his or her own back story which is slowly unraveled as the movie progresses. Throw in a little humour and a little awww moments to tug your heart strings, and there you have it. Valentine's Day 2010. To quote a line from the movie "When you love somebody, you love the person as a whole, the good parts and the bad, the lovable and the unlovable. All of it."
Be warned though, this is not a movie for the impatient and restless - the film runs for a whooping 2 hours, with not much action and lots of dialogue.
Oh, and while I'm on this topic of movies, I have decided not to totally boycott Filmgarde's food. Remember my post in 2008 about FilmGarde Kallang's popcorn? (here's the link to refresh your memory: http://spaltxation.blogspot.com/2008/11/coffin.html) They manage to do it yet again. This time at FilmGarde Iluma. Worse nacho cheese ever. Out of the many experiences with nachos at theatres, I have never had cheese that looks so watery that it actually looked like egg yolk. The thought of it still haunts me. Can't believe I stomach that. I'm sorry FilmGarde, but you have got to up your standards if you're gonna continue charging that exorbitant rates for your movie experience.
Next up! What kind of a V Day celebration would this be without an awesome dinner? And while we're at it, I officially announce this Japanese restaurant as one of our favorites. They serve excellent sashimi. Mmm.
Ebisboshi Shotengai is this Japanese restaurant in Iluma that serves excellent Japanese food fare. Everything tastes so great that I just can't get enough of it. But of course, with such standards, comes a big price tag - one which I am happy to pay. But enough talk, let's see some pictures now, shall we?
Shirley's Temple
Our drink for the night. It tastes exactly like Ginger Beer. Nothing special to rave about, in my opinion.
And here's a list of our side dishes:
Salmon Sashimi
I strongly recommend getting their sashimi. This is one dish that we could not get enough of. Just look at how thick it is. And the taste of it... Mmmm... mouth orgasm.
Takopachi. Absolutely delicious
Okonomiyaki. The flakes are alive!
And now, for the main course...
Her Kimchee Hot Pot. It really packs a punch!
My Sukiyaki Beef Set. Sweet.
As usual, we shared the bowl of rice so that we have enough room to savour all the side dishes. Eating here always leaves us with a satisfied stomach - one that is not too bloated and yet sufficiently full.
And of course, it's back to our own cribs after the awesome dinner. And you know what else? I totally dig the gift from my lady. It's so cute I could pinch it... figuratively of course. THANKS FOR THE V DAY GIFT, LOVE. =]
Happy Valentine's Day in advance to the other lovers out there!

Playing at the arcade has always been a fun time for our dates (we go to the arcade a lot) but today was one of the best, awesome, time EVER. And I mean LEGENDARY kind of awesome. Just check out this video where we struck the jackpot for the coin machine.
The awesome melody of the dropping coins
Our 2 pots of gold!
And what did we do with our winnings, you may ask. Well, according to the staff at Arcadia, the only way for us to utilize our coins would be: a. To win more coins b. To win tickets to redeem prizes c. Exchange the coins for tickets d. Exchange the coins for money
Which would be a more logical choice for you?
No prizes for those who chose option b.
Guess I'll be visiting Arcadia more often with my girlfriend to use our remaining tokens.
Aloha! It's been a long and tiring month for us, but here we are again. Happy 19th Month-nniversary. I know that this has been a particularly tough and tiring month for you, having your first interview and being forced into doing something that you didn't want to, so jiayou!
I hope to see you at least once a week even with our busy schedules... I want to spend more time with you.
