Feel it, love it! Hongkong!!This was where I went for lunch today.
Not, it's not Hongkong. But it's the closest I could get with the limited budget I had. Or rather, what my parents had.
Welcome to Xin Wang CafeSituated in Kovan, this cosy little cafe exudes an ambience of class and elegance. And let me tell you, ambience doesn't come cheap.

Anyone need a map of Hongkong?
This was where I satHere's a sneak peek at the menu.
What's a Hongkong cafe to do without its dim sum?
*in HK accent* Protein very important! And this was what I had for lunch.
Fish and chicken congee : $6.90 each.
Fried noodle, Macau style : $6.90
Ice milo dinosaur : $2.90And now for the side dishes.
(clockwise from extreme left) Siew mai, har gow, chicken feet : $2.50 each
(from left to right) Shrimp rolls wrapped in beancurd skin, sesame balls : $2.50, $2.20 respectivelyThe whole chicken bowl and metal cup thing made me feel very kampong-ish. Which is good, since it's kinda unique. The food was a letdown though. If I had wanted to eat instant noodle with luncheon meat, I would have done it at home. Seriously.
The aftermath:
Fried Noodle 'Macau Style' : 6.90
Spaghetti (yes, they do serve western cuisines) : 8.90
Ying Yong Tea x2 : 2.50 x2
Prawn Paste Chicken : 6.90
Shrimp Rolls in Beancurd Skin : 2.50
Chicken Feet x2 : 2.50 x2
Total: a whooping 77.40 (incl. 10% svc charge and GST)
I was filled to the brim with the food, but definitely not with glee. And that my friend, is the price to pay for the ambience. I'll recommend eating here only if you have the money to spare and need a place to chill.
If you're in for the food, don't bother. You're better off elsewhere.
