If you have been to Settlers and Mind's Cafe, and you are looking for a similar place to hangout, this is not the right place for you.
Nebo Cafe at Ang Moh Kio Hub has a rather pleasant ambience. It's small and cosy, the food's not bad (I especially love the sauces) and it's just next to the Cathay theatre. What's to complain right?
Well, to start off, if you are there to plainly chill and hang out a little, like have a La Kopi session, this is the place to be.
But if you are looking for what I mentioned at the start of the blog, this is a complete nuh-uh. The games are extremely limited and the staff's knowledge of their own games is even more limited than their limited games, if you get my drift.
What you see is what you can get.But of course, we did not let the lack of games deter us. We managed to find a relatively fun game called "Hedbanz" where we get to wear the silly blue looking headband with a card attached to it.
In case you're curious, this game is for ages 7 and upThe objective of the game is to guess what card you picked by asking questions with 'yes' and 'no' answers.
I am a candy bar. Sweeet. It's fun to wear that silly looking thing on your head when you are with a familiar group of friends. But things start to get uncomfortable when you are conveniently seated next to the glass pane which is next to the walkway.
You get plenty of weird stares every now and then. One weirdo even stared at us. Yes, literally STARED at us and continued doing so even though we looked back.
There's our demonstrator at the walkway staring in.Awkward.
So unless you are just there to La Kopi, make a detour to your nearest Mind's or Settler's Cafe now. Avoid the disappointment and the awkwardness of being stared at like some animals in the zoo.
