And the nation celebrates her 43rd birthday as I spent a quiet and short afternoon with my dearest at Bugis Street. =]

Met up with her to supposedly have a noon 烟花 session... but the lighter died on me by running out of gas just after lighting a few sticks of sparklers. Bummer. There were some policemen patrolling around and I guess the sight of me with a lighter didn't make them feel very comfortable. Not to mention that I had a particularly suspicious look.

Had lunch at Phin's Steakhouse located along the streets opposite Bugis Junction. Presenting...

Her selection of char grilled chicken...

and my choice of sambal fish fillet

It wasn't as fabulous as I would like to give it credit for, unfortunately. I'd choose NYNY over this any day.

Next up, dessert at Ah Chew's! No, Ah Chew isn't my friend. It's a cosy little dessert shop located along the same street opposite Bugis Junction. It's kind of hard to miss with it's old school signboard that reads [Ah Chew Desserts 阿秋甜品]. Settled for the mango sago dessert with a scoop of vanilla (it says vallila on the menu... who does the menu, I wonder) ice cream!

The perfect dessert on a nice sunny day!

The vanilla melting in the dessert makes the whole thing much creamier, and just look at the chunks of mango floating in the bowl! Yummay!

Went shopping for a bag at Zinc after our well deserved meal. Finally got the bag that I wanted for school! Was supposed to spend 50 bucks to get my Zinc membership card but the salesperson waived it for me after seeing how hard I tried to get me and my girlfriend something to top up to that amount. Talk about good customer service! I think he must have seen how cute my girlfriend was and relented (or maybe he saw how cute I was. hahahaha!) Either way, kudos to the salesperson for being so understanding. Will definitely go back to Zinc for more bags in future.

Sadly, we weren't able to see the fireworks together. The constant smsing kept us close but yet we were so far apart. I wish things would be better next year. Time really flies when we are together. I can really lose myself in her cute smile.

I hope to see you happy every day!
