Ahhh... yes. The final big bang. The finale to end it all.
What better way to end off my 2 years of NSF life than with this spectacular Army Half Marathon?
As impressive as it sounds, I only got to run 10km because I didn't clock the required 16km in order to run the 21km run. It was a bit disappointing, but I guess it was for the best of reasons, since it might pose as a health hazard if I over-exert and the skin on my foot hasn't healed up either, which could possibly lead to a painful 21km run.
Running in a public marathon is quite the experience! There is no longer the luxury of running at a consistent pacing like the usual runs you do at the park or when you are running in small groups. Sprinting from time to time is the only way there is to break free from the slow moving crowd and to advance further. I like the feeling of cutting through the crowd. Fun!
The impact of my index toe hitting against my shoe from all the sudden braking is really starting to hurt. This is probably a carried-over pain from my previous frisbee training. Ouch.
2 more weeks to ORD!
