We have all seen Mark Lee on TV and know him as TV's funny man, but how good is he as a one-man stand up?
In celebration of his 20 years in showbiz, Mark Lee has decided to show us just what he is made of. And I actually won a pair of tickets to his show, thanks to my mum taking part in The New Paper contest. The 2 hour show was a good workout for my abs and mouth as I laughed at Mark's dialogues from the start to the end. We all know Mark for his down-to-earth slap up humor, and his stand-up did not differ far from it. The topics which he talked about were easy to relate to as a citizen of Singapore.
However, those of you who are inept in Hokkien might want to get a translator to go along with you(today was the last show, unfortunately). After all, some stuffs are just funnier when it's spoken in Hokkien.
Nevertheless, if you can understand Mandarin, you should be able to appreciate his humor for the bulk of the show. I know because I had a silly girl sitting beside me laughing away. I love her smile so much.
Cheers to Mark's humor. And mind you, this was no miming act.
